WHO WE ARE

Team 209 has grown to be the TOP FUNDRAISING TEAM in the NATION for 6 of the last 8 years running! Team 209 has raised more money ($2.9M) than any other TNT Friends & Family Team in the 33 year history of Team In Training. With your help, we can make 2024 our BIGGEST YEAR yet! We have our sights set on $3.4M raised by 2024 and need you to make this dream come true for patients and families!

Our team is on a mission to CURE blood cancer! Our team began in 2012 with 12 riders training for an event in Las Vegas raising $43,324. In 2013 we began our annual ride around Lake Tahoe as a part of the America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride. Every year, we have grown our team and our impact through the support of our community. With your support in 2024, we are working to be the Top Fundraising Team in the Nation once again!

...and raise $3.4 MILLION in the process!!!

Since our inception in 2012, we have trained hundreds of riders and raised over $2.9M for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In 2018, our very own Coach Mel Bradley & Captain Linda Lindenberg were recognized as Coach and Captain of the year for the entire country of Team In Training programs. In 2019 Coach Mel was honored as Team In Training Coach of the Year. 2023 Coach Mel raised more money than any other rides in the history of the Lake Tahoe ride.

Our teammates are made up of beginning riders, experienced road cyclist, mountain bikes and everyone in between! We are passionate about teaching you how to ride and enjoy cycling. If you already ride, we would love to help challenge you to reach your next big goal!

Head Coach

Mel's passion for building community through cycling began as a way to honor his late wife Nancy. Mel spent 7 years driving to Sacramento weekly to train with the team before founding the team right here in the 209. Mel gives countless hours to this program and has been recognized as the TNT Coach of the Year.
